Product Description
Presents a complete guide to ANSI standard C language programming. Written by the developers of C, this new version helps readers keep up with the finalized ANSI standard for C while showing how to take advantage of C's rich set of operators, economy of expression, improved control flow, and data structures. This 2nd edition has been completely rewritten with additional examples and problem sets to clarify the implementation of difficult language constructs. 7 x 9 1/4.
Amazon.com Review
Just about every C programmer I respect learned C from this book. Unlike many of the 1,000 page doorstops stuffed with CD-ROMs that have become popular, this volume is concise and powerful (if somewhat dangerous) -- like C itself. And it was written by Kernighan himself. Need we say more?

Product Reviews:
A timeless reference in computing, truly a rarity ( booklovershaven )
In the world of computing the value of nearly every book about the subject goes to zero in three years or less. This book is an exception to that generalization. Even though this edition was published in 1988, it is still heavily used as a reference in the C programming community. When compared to some of the behemoth C programming books published today, it is also surprisingly small, I held it next to a Sams Teach Yourself book and it is approximately 1/4 the width.
Despite the succinctness, it is complete; there have been few times in my career as a C programmer when I failed to find the solution to my question about how you do a particular task in C. Not only did Kernighan and Ritchie do it right when they developed the C language, they also did it right when they wrote the definitive book to explain it.

Writing harder to read than the code
Its got good information for sure, and the author is obviously knowledgeable, but in all honesty I had a harder time reading his writing than just reading the code ... far to many obscure / unnecessary words used that do not relate to programming. Flat out I just did not enjoy the read
  Classic Must Own C Book!
There Is No Better Book Than This On C.
and if your learning c and don't have this book
get it.

this is THE definitive book on The C Programming Language
and also a Classic programming book that set the standard by which all others should be judged.
  A book to keep ..
This book is the very first book any person that is into C programming should read. Cherish it and keep it in a preferential place.
  C Programming Book
"The C Programming Language" is a good book overall. I expected it to come in a little better shape, but I can't complain. I trust the source I got it from and would recommend buying one of these if you want the "White Book" for old-time programmers.
