Product Description
The classic survey of American literature from its sixteenth-century origins to its flourishing present.
This anthology offers the work of over 260 writers—34 newly included—representing the extraordinary wealth and diversity of American literature. Among the 36 major works included in their entirety are Franklin's Autobiography; Hawthorne's The Scarlet Letter; Thoreau's Walden; Douglass's Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass, An American Slave; Twain's Adventures of Huckleberry Finn; Chopin's The Awakening; Cather's My Antonia; Faulkner's As I Lay Dying; Williams's A Streetcar Named Desire; Larsen's Quicksand; Ginsberg's "Howl"; and Mamet's Glengarry, Glen Ross. The Seventh Edition pays increased attention to cultural contexts through the inclusion of 45 color plates, 12 contextual clusters, updated maps and timelines, and through extensively revised section introductions, headnotes, footnotes, and bibliographies.

The cornerstone for centuries. ( yoywysi )
Norton anthologies have the goods. English classes make you buy these, and if you are not an English major, it sucks. But these are awesome! I have kept most of mine, despite no English major, and continue to read them over and over again.

Completely Satisfied! ( haasdn )
The price I paid for this product compared to what half.com was charging and the bookstore at my college was charging was quite the bargain. The books were shipped faster then even Amazon thought and I received them in perfect condition. No complaints!

Great Product
Great books for the price. Worth way more than what you pay if you love literature like I do.

Quick ( malpal1987 )
The seller delivered these books in a timely fashion. They were in great condition and were what was advertised. If I needed to I would order from this person again. Thank you.

One of a kind!
This collection is priceless. You get a slew of great titles in one book. I needed this book for a class, and otherwise wouldn't have bought it, but I'm keeping it after the class is over just for the literature it contains.
You could read these and literally be a few steps above your friends in intelligence.
I gave it a 4/5 though, because there was one mistake I saw in the book. One date on one of the footnotes said an author wrote something 100 years after their death- a typo. A resource like this should be free of typos, as you'll likely use it for reports and as a reference.
(I still would not buy it again unless I needed it for the class, however)
