 excellent guide and good tarot reference
There are a lot of great things about this book, but the #1 for me is that it's quick and easy to look up the meanings of cards. Under each meaning is a definition for what the card means for romance, money, job, health, or general questions.
I have read several books on Tarot. This is the only book I've kept. I use it all the time.
As a bonus, there are several spreads to give you ideas on how to develop your own Tarot readings style.

 Near Perfect
I've had this book for many years. This book is very near perfect. What I did not like about this book is there are no definitions for reversed meanings. NONE! The writers believe to only read reversed meanings if they accidentally show up in the spread. The only problem I have with that is I shuffle my deck so there are many reversed cards--probably half the deck.
What is great about this book is it narrows down so many meanings of each card. These meanings include the following: work, romance, finances, health, and spirituality. There are numerous spreads to help keep anyone busy. Again, it's a great book but if it only had reversed meanings as well.

this book has 100 spreads to do and try. doesn't have the reversed meanings in it but the spreads are wonderful. also another great gift for someone.

A LITTLE GEM OF A BOOK ( waterfalling9 )
I love this book. I have read tarot cards since I was 13 and I have used several different books as references. While many of my tarot reference books stay on the shelf until I need them, I use this book everyday and keep it handy. The interpretations of the cards are insightful and divided by topic whether you are asking about money, career, love, health, or spirituality. When I do readings about relationships it is so wonderful to pick up this book and look at the interpretations for just that, not trying to finesse what the 4 of Pentacles could mean to a romantic question. This book also has over 100 kinds of readings available that are used for Yes/No, past/present/future, deeper readings about life purpose and fun readings about what your ex is thinking about you. I have learned alot from this book as to the various meanings of the cards and I enjoy the many different kinds of layouts, and I recommend it as a reference for experienced and beginner alike.
