Very different, but interesting
This guy is a character for sure. A lot of the writing is some really funny rants and raves. Most of them are spot on, others I didn't agree with. The different review reactions are funny to observe. Tate, Mystery, and that Tucker Max dude (all bestsellers) are lightning rods for the hater reviews. All in all, the book is an entertaining alpha view of the landscape, with some pertinent social dynamics advice on making yourself more attractive, fine tuning what you are looking for, and what ladies to avoid. You could read this purely for entertainment, but there really is a slew of great dating and financial advice that every man can benefit from. A fun and easy read that had me cracking up from page one.

Tate ironically reveals his own psychopathy
I bought this book on a whim because, undoubtedly like many men who get this book, grew tired of feeling out of control in relationships, esspecially with beautiful women. If you are looking for a good relationship, or even a good relationship book this is not the key. This book might help you get laid with stupid women, but that's about it. For men who feel extremely underpowered around beautiful women and unable to be genuinely masculine, this might kick you in the pants to stop being that way. But it's incredibly shallow. This book is a handbook for antisocial behavior bordering on psychopathy. In this respect, I find it extremely hilarious that a person who claimed to be a Doctor in Psychology recommended this book. Where are you working? Same place as "Dr. Tate."?
Brett Tate is clearly an idiot. This book is extremely poorly written and has at least two obvious spelling or grammar errors per page. It looks as if Tate wrote this over a week-long bender...which is fine, but don't pretend to be an expert while you're doing it.
When I first starting reading this book, it started to make me feel more empowered around women, and I actually ended up (sort of) picking up a girl at a New Years Party only a few days after reading the book. Too bad she was high on X and apparently had a boyfriend who she only wanted half-assedly to get back at with me (and I didn't even get any action in the end). These are the kind of girls you're going to get with Tate's 'method'.
After I read even only a few short sections of this book (and after New Years) I wished the mind erasure from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind actually existed. The book made me feel more and more mean by every page. He aims to help you avoid the psychos for a good girl, but he inevitably ends up providing a guide to manipulation and cunning behavior, which is not the path to a decent relationship with anyone. He talks minimally about the good girls, but he ultimately endorses manipulating them too. He bemoans the "liberal media" and "metrosexuals" and speaks of the good old days when cavemen "dragged women around by their hair for fun." Let me clue you in buddy, the age of male patriarchy is passing, and it's not all bad for guys either. This guy is not a happy person, he seems angry, upset, defensive and lonely and that's the general tone you get from the book. If you ask me, this guy didn't get enough love as a kid.
I can understand where he's coming from though, it's the same reason I bought the book. Everyone has been hurt by others in relationships and lately, in our age of uncertain social roles and a certain feminist backlash, it almost seems as if women have taken the upper hand in relationships, but ultimately if they behave the way Tate expects them to, they'll be just as unhappy as him.
That's the ultimate irony of this book, in endorsing his "self-defense" measures, Tate ultimately becomes what he says he hates about women, a manipulative psychopath. But fighting fire with fire is not the answer. Please disregard most of the information in this book and take it with less than a grain of salt, that is, if you buy it. Honestly I would recommend trusting your common sense as a human being with emotions over buying this book. I wish I had, I may have had a much better New Years Eve.

Brilliantly titled
Intelligent and at times a seriously funny book written tongue in cheek, telling things exactly how they are. Brutally honest observations about numerous women's agenda in dating, and great psychological solutions on how to stop being played and get what you want without getting your head ripped off, manhood deflated, and wallet pick pocketed.
It is a bachelor's guide, designed to create the best lifestyle you can on your terms. Like they say in business, when you take care of the downside, the upside will take care of itself.

Just 'Look Inside the Book' ( drfood )
Take advantage of that wonderful Amazon feature that lets you browse before you buy. Go to page one of this book. If you can read to the end of the page and believe that this ungrammatical drivel can help you pick up a woman, then by all means, spend the money.

For Tate fans, his next book is here
High Heels and Dirty Deals - Globetrotting Tales of Debauchery from a Binge-drinking Nymphomaniac
Check out that title! I loved his first two books, and just ordered this new one. Intellectual humor at its best.
